Honey Soy Flank Steak Marinade
(Dairy Free, Egg Free, Nut Free, Refined Sugar Free)
An easy and delicious recipe for honey soy flank steak marinade! Flank steaks become very tender when marinated. This one is marinated overnight, which allows for maximum tenderness! Simple to prepare, the fresh ginger root is key, and should not be replaced with dried.
Puree the onion, garlic, and ginger root. Add the soy sauce, honey, and oil, blending well. Reserve 1/4 cup marinade. Coat the steak in remaining marinade, and place in a covered glass dish or in a ziplock; marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
Grill the flank steak for five to six minutes on each side, and baste it several times with the reserved marinade.
Once the steak has reached the desired internal temperature (145 degrees F = rare, 155-160 degrees F = medium, 170 degrees F = well-done), remove from the grill and set on a plate. Cover the plate with a stainless steel bowl or aluminum foil, and let the steak rest for 5 minutes before serving.
