 THE RANCH
Roughly each month Caryl writes a diary about our activities on the ranch.  Her goal is to tell kids (and adults too!) about life on a ranch in Idaho.  You’ll learn about feeding cows and calves, using horses for work, ways to keep animals healthy and happy, and what life is like living on a ranch.

You’ll see pictures of our kids, who are like yourselves in many ways, but also different because they live on a ranch.  They take care of chickens, bottle feed calves, work in our large garden, go with their dad to farmer’s markets to sell our beef, and many other things.  You’ll see pictures of us, and of our animals.  You’ll learn what our work involves.

We will also sometimes include a real-life math problem for you to figure out if you want to.  Running a business is all about math.  Even if you don’t want to solve the problem, you can see the way we apply math often in our work on a ranch.

Please check back at the end of each month to see our newest diary entry.
